Confidence is soo important.

Im just sitting here thinking about something completely pointless. youtube girls. lol Theres some girls on there that are a hotmess in my eyes but have a TON of ppl crazy about them. Those girls have a ton of confidence also. The way you feel about yourself will usually carry over to other people. Thats why its sooo important to do things that make you feel good about yourself. Things that boost your confidence in yourself. When you feel like you are too legit, and beyond fly, (but not cocky) other people will see that and feel that vibe from you. You may make some haters that way but thats a given not EVERYONE is going to like you at all times. What matters is that YOU love you and that you are good with God. As long as you have those two things, everything is extra.

Perioral Dermatitis

So. I'm pretty sure this is what my rash is on my chin(from me just searching stuff online and based off what the er told me when it first appeared). It has yet to go away. It looks horrible! It is on the sides of my nose a little bit but mainly on my chin..I have been trying to cover it up with makeup but I think its making it worse. I quit using the stuff I normally use and have been using grapeseed oil as a moisturizer and sometimes putting aquaphor on it. I think I need to just leave it be though. This really sucks! lol between now and next thursday I'm going to be around soooo many people! :/

The end of my anti aging routine...

Well....my skincare routine was very short lived..just a few weeks. My skin has been looking a lot better, except as time has gone on its felt less oily. Yesterday it was sooo itchy and I thought it was because it was dry. Today I decided to use my ol faithful, purity made simple by philosphy, once my skin dried, I started getting a bright red scaley rash all around my chin and nose area. It itched so bad it started to burn!! Called my Dr and they werent taking paitents that late, so off to the er. The drs there said it was an allergic reaction. I'm not sure how it went on for weeks without a problem then out of no where today BAM rash. Last night I was too tired to wash my makeup off so I just used a makeup remover cloth that I have never used before. I'm not sure if that had something to do with it or not. I didnt want to risk it so I just returned the Peter Thomas Roth kit. For now I'm just gonna be sticking to what works. Prior to using these products I was just using St. Ives Apricot Scrub and Clinque Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. At times I'd use just plain dial antibacterial soap. So we will see....

Hair Growth Update Feb 2011 (BC)- November 2011

So I did my BC back in Febuary of this year this was the length:

I still had long pieces in the front that I cut off in March 2011:

It was colored towards the end of march early april:

Juneish July:

Then here is October-November 2011(the first two my hair has no product the last one it does:

I'm not sure if its growing slow or fast or normal. To me it seems suppppper slow. I cant wait to have long hair again.

Trying out a dif technique for Wash n Go's

So wash n gos have been my staple for the past 6 or 7 years. My hair is in a wash n go more than any other style. I usually just co wash (use a conditioner like a shampoo) daily in the shower, only rinse it partially out, towel dry my hair then add Giovanni Direct Leave In and Tressame Naturals and a sealant like hairveda vatika frosting or castor oil or shea butter mixed with coconut oil. I dont have any special way of putting it in I usually just slap it on there.

The few days I've been doing it differently, instead of using a towel, I've been using a cotton tee shirt to dry my which has made less frizz, then instead of just slapping the products on, I've been sectioning my hair and applying the products section by section. Four total sections. I am loving my hair lately! This is an awesome way of doing it! I was looking for a new way because my hair was feeling really dry. This technique is making sure all of my hair is getting conditioner. So its all moisturized. My hair is uber thick so this helps a lot! My curls are way more defined this way! Here is my hair yesterday after putting my products in:

My Current Skincare Routine

So at 26 going on 27 very shortly, I have been thinking about anti aging products a lot. I've started investing ( yes investing cause im learning anti aging isnt cheap!) in trying out some different routines and products. Previously all I would do is wash my face with St.Ives apricot scrub, or Dial antibacterial soap and moisturize with Clinique dramatically different gel. The gel is oil free and keeps me from breaking out. I tend to have really oily skin but lately I'm noticing some dryer areas. SO earlier this year I started trying some things out, first off I got the Ole Henricksens three little wonders. I had read rave reviews for weeks and I had a TON (it literally equaled out to a full size product in samples lol) of the Truth Serum. I loved the truth serum only I cant say that it made a HUGE difference in my skin, what it did do was make it look more alive if that makes sense. A glow and brightness. The whole kit together broke me out horribly. Still to this day I have acne scars all around my jawline from that mess. If you look at my more recent vids on youtube you'll prob see them when I turn my head up or sideways. I ended up returning the kit. Went back to my ole soap and clinique routine I've ton for the past 10 years and my skin cleared up again. I really REALLY want good looking skin. So I started doing some more research and came across my current products in my routine starting with...
1. Cleanse
I purchased the Clarisonic Classic and a deep pore cleansing head brush ( I got a huge discount on this at sephora SCORE!) This brush has been AMAZING! I am literally shocked, always looking at my face in mirrors in shock at how good my skin has been looking since I've started using this. I love that its also waterproof so you can use it in the shower. If your going to get one, make sure you get one at a place where you have a warrenty and you can sometimes get them on QVC or another home shopping site where you can do multi pay options.
I use this brush with Peter Thomas Roth anti aging cleanser

2. Treat:
After washing in the morning I only use an eye cream which is the Shiseido Benefiance Concentrated Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream then go straight to my moisturizer, at night though after the eyes I use Peter Thomas Roth PM serum. This to me doesnt really feel like a serum its very watery but it is so awesome.

3. Moisturize: I use Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich Intensive Anti Aging Celluar Creme. Sometimes I'll use Josie Maran Argan Oil, sometimes I'll use Clinques moisturizing gel.

4. Protect: Peter Thomas Roth Max Sheer All Day Defense Moisture Lotion.

Now individually all of these items are a bit pricey...however Sephora offers a package for around 56 dollars which is less than most of these for just one item. So its an awesome way to go about getting started with skincare. Sephora will also take returns within 90 days so you can try it and return it if it doesnt work for you.

So I'm loving these products, my skin is loving them. I cant stop lookin in mirrors at how nice its coming along. They have def all been well worth it. Hopefully this is going to help me combat the aging process :)

DIY Pumpkin Mask!

I found this mask on another blog and thought Id share it! Since pumpkins are out in abundance right now its right up our seasons alley!
Pumpkins are high in vitamins A and C and zinc, this gourd-like squash helps heal and protect the skin from free radicals, all while gently dissolving dead skin cells. The addition of egg helps bind the mask together, nourishing and lifting the skin. To get the recipe for this homemade pumpkin face mask, read more.
  • Make your base: Whisk together about 1/4 cup of pumpkin (canned is ok to use) and one egg.
  • Customize: If desired, add a splash of milk, which does a beauty good, after all.
  • For dry skin: Add a bit of honey, which not only acts as a humectant, but the natural sweetener provides antiseptic properties, too.
  • For oily skin: For an astringent effect, mix in a splash of apple cider or cranberry juice.
  • Apply: Slather the mixture on your face. Relax, read, do chores, or whatever you'd like for the next 15 to 20 minutes and rinse off.

The verdict on baby oil...

So basically what I thought originally was right. Baby oil is a no go. I googled a few things and some people said it was good others said not so much but for the same reason I originally thought. It blocks your pores etc. Sooo thats prob why it makes me sweat so bad!

So some oils to try instead would be:
Coconut Oil
Argan Oil
Olive Oil
Emu Oil
Vit e

Butters:
Unrefined Shea Butter
Cocoa Butter
Mango Butter

Now im not tryin to fake the funk but I've only tried shea out of the butters. So I cant say what would be best. Im on a mission to have better looking moisturized skin. So I'm gonna be trying all of these out. I want my skin to be moist and looking younger! Yes I'm only 26 but I can already see time taking its toll on my body. I will def report back with my moisture findings :)

Natural oils and butters VS Mineral oils...(body edition)

Soooo If you know me well you know I love all things natural for hair and body. When I was a teenager I was using baby oil every day on my body, and my skin always was soft and pretty (and sweaty lol that stuff seriously makes you sweat!) Once I got a little older and started learning about not using mineral oils in your hair products I also stopped using them in my body products. I figured the reason the I was sweating so bad was because the mineral oils were blocking my pores. (my reasoning not saying its a legit claim just my thoughts on the matter and I haven't read up on it..just sayin) So I've been using shea butter, coconut oil, and any other blends I can find online for my body products. Lately I revisited baby oil, not because of the recent "hair grease" trend in the natural world but because it was right in front of me when I got out of the shower ( I use it to remove eye makeup) and my shea butter wasn't. So that day my skin was so soft! It stayed soft the whole day! I have been using natural products for years now and I haven't had skin that still looked and felt moisturized all day long yet! The baby oil did that...so I'm wondering what the deal is with this.
This is def just for body though...the only way mineral oils will touch my hair again is if they start making diamonds sprout from my scalp! I have been there done that and my hair broke off constantly. Only since I went to natural products for my hair has it thrived. On my body though its another story...I'm def gonna be looking into why the natural products aren't keeping my skin as soft as the mineral oil products...
